Obituary of Terry Catel

Terry Catel passed away at the age of 93 on April 12, 2024 in Queen Creek Arizona.

Terry was born July 15, 1930 in Crete, Greece to Nicholas and Kostantina Kostakis. She had three siblings: Cleovrotos, Georgia & Joseph.

She grew up in Palia Rumata near Chania Greece. Terry immigrated to the United States, New York City and was sponsored by her uncles John and James Kostakis.

On April 12, 1954 she married Spiro Catel in New York City. They moved to Taylor Township Michigan where she was a homemaker while her husband Spiro worked as a Painter, then opened Sparty Cleaners in Taylor. Spiro & Terry had 4 children. Marko, Penelope, Nicholas & Costa.

In 1967, the Catel family moved to Novato, California, then moved to Orinda, California and opened Orinda Cleaners. The family moved to Gilbert, Arizona in 1999 and have remained there for 25 years until her passing.

She is survived by her brother, Joseph, her 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will soon be announced and held in Gilbert and she will be laid to rest with her loving husband at the National Cemetery in Cave Creek, Arizona.
