Obituary of David Myron Skeem

David Myron Skeem passed away at the age of 77 on April 3, 2024 in Gilbert Arizona of Pulmonary Fibrosis surrounded by most of his children.

David was born December 22, 1946 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Christian Lester Skeem and Verda Hunt Skeem. He had four siblings: Gary Lester Skeem, Arman Dean Skeem, Rulon LaMoyne Skeem, and Terry Skeem Jamieson.

He grew up in Hollister and then Inkom, Idaho. The family moved around a few times but was mainly in Idaho. He spent his teenage years working for his parents at a service station that they owned. He graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1965. He then served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Alaska Canadian mission. He later went on to serve in the US Army in Alaska where he was recognized for his outstanding service in the 58th Transportation Company.

On November 17, 1972 he married Starla Raye Petersen in the Salt Lake City temple. They moved to McCammon, Idaho where he had started a grain grinder business with his brother Gary. Starla and David had eight children: Taniesha Skeem Wallin, Cherriese Angeline Skeem Johnson, Colton David Skeem, Dainan Marcus Skeem, Tamryn Skeem Vaughan, Loxsie Lyn Skeem, Shansa Briddett Skeem McBride, and Callin Royce Skeem.

He had many different jobs and hobbies. David and Starla travelled the country selling popular products in state fairs, started a wedding company, and still kept their own grain grinder business. When he was younger, he loved to water ski, fly his airplane, and take his children on rides on his Honda trail bike. Later in life, he enjoyed traveling the western US to buy fruit and haul it back to Idaho to sell to friends and neighbors.

After the passing of his wife, Starla, in 2019, David moved to Arizona City, Arizona in 2022 where he lived until his passing.

He is survived by his sister, Terry Jamieson, his 8 children, 26 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will soon be announced and held in Idaho where he will be laid to rest with his loving wife.
