Obituary of Linda Lou Pekrul

In Loving Memory of Linda Lou Pekrul

Linda Lou Pekrul departed to heaven January 15, 2024, in Mesa, Arizona, with her family by her side. Linda was born October 25, 1943, in Venetia, PA, to Rachel Waugh Wardle and George Wardle.

Linda dedicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ as a teenager, and felt led of the Lord to attend Ft. Wayne Bible College in Indiana.  It was there she met the love of her life, Merton Wayne Pekrul, while he was also attending Bible College. After their marriage on June 11, 1966, they both attended Trinity International University, in Deerfield, Ill., & after graduation, moved to Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

Together, they raised a wonderful family of four children, all born in Wisconsin, where they had ministered for 10 years, which included starting a K-12 Christian School.  Linda was committed to Christian ministry all her life, as well as sharing Christ as Savior, while teaching in the public school system.

Although Linda really enjoyed the outdoors and travel, Linda’s highest priority in her life was loving the Lord, her family, and especially her grandchildren.  The family moved to Mesa, Arizona, in 1980.

Linda was an amazing caregiver and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Merton Pekrul; her children: Trisha Campbell (Todd), Luke Pekrul (Kristiana), Michael Pekrul, and Melinda Yee (Jason); her grandchildren: Victoria, Madeline, Charlotte, Evelyn, Ava, Michael, Jack, Hannah, Abigail, Elisabeth, Joseph, Micah, and Reagan; her siblings: Ronald Wardle, Debbie Reynolds, Michele Anderson (Michael), Sally Lasher, Lisa Cope, and Brian Wardle (Tracy);  as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by: her parents, Rachel Haas, and George Wardle; her brother, James Wardle and sister-in-law, Mary Ann; and Karen Wardle, sister-in-law (deceased wife of Ron Wardle).
