Obituary of James Gutman

James Gerald Gutman Jr., 71, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away August 24, 2023. He was born on October 30, 1951, inCook County, Illinois to Edna and James Gutman, Sr.

 

Jim spent his life in the computer and I.T. world and loved everything about it.  He always said, I never worked a day in my life.  Jim didn’t have clients, he had true friends.   Jim would check on a client and he may have a story to share and sometimes worked on something and sometimes not.  But always, it was more than just a check on systems and equipment.  It was a visit from a friend. 

 

After moving from Illinois to Phoenix in the mid 1970’s,  Jim resided for a number of years in Chandler, finally setting his roots in Gilbert, AZ with his wife Sandi in 1986. And what a lucky town Gilbert, AZ was to have Jim as a citizen and friend.

 

His love of astronomy and cars was always present in his hobbies and conversations.   Anyone close to Jim may have had the honor in seeing things in the sky that others may never know.  A truly talented and great friend, Jim will be deeply missed.  

 

Jim is survived by his wife Santina (Sandi) Gutman, his sister and brother-in-law Linda and Jack Butler, a niece and nephew and a number of cousins.

 

The family is respecting Jim’s wishes that there will not be a memorial service.
