Obituary of Carri Traeger

Carole “Carri” Lynn DeGraff Traeger passed away on August 26, 2023. 

She was born on November 13, 1945, in Muskegon, Michigan to Grace and Barney DeGraff.

Carri graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1963 and continued her education at Brigham Young University. She spent a year studying abroad in Frieberg, Germany. Following her time in Germany, she completed her education at BYU, graduating with a German major and Mathematics minor.

 Carri taught high school mathematics at Granger High School, Granger, Utah. In 1971, she met Charles “Hank” Traeger III in Vienna, Austria.   They married on February 20, 1972 at Hank’s family home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.  

Throughout her life, Carri and Hank resided in New York City, Belmont, MA, Phoenix, and Gilbert, AZ. Carri is survived by her sister, Dede, her husband, Hank, sons Charles Traeger, Seth Traeger (Rebecca), and Benjamin Traeger and daughters Erin Traeger, Anna Eagar (Lincoln), and Claire Riding (Cody). She is also survived by eight grandchildren. She was known as an angel mother and an angel Oma to her family.

Carri was a talented baker and used her talents to bless others. She was also an amazing caregiver and provided years of service to those she loved. An open house (chocolate party) to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 6-8 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ Cullumber building at 220 E Cullumber Gilbert, AZ.
