Obituary of Amanda Hansen

Amanda Joy Hansen, age 39, passed away in the arms and comfort of her family on June 6, 2023. She was born on May 5th, 1984 in Mesa, Arizona to parents Annette and Joe Slayton. She was the second of four children and was very close to her older brother Josh and younger sisters, Beth and Hannah. 

 She met her husband, Peter, when she was 18. They were married and had two amazing children, Devin and Sawyer, the lights of her life. Amanda had a gift with all children. She gave them her attention, making them feel loved and appreciated. Joy was her middle name and that is what she brought into our lives. Whether you were an adult or a child, you could always count on Amanda to play a game, throw a ball, or sit and watch a Cardinals game with you. Her infectious laugh beguiled her competitive nature. She loved reading, playing softball, podcasts, comfy hoodies, family vacations at the beach, and most of all, being with her family. Amanda was a loved and admired wife, mother, daughter, aunt, sister, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Peter, daughter, Devin, son, Sawyer, parents, Joe and Annette, sisters, Beth and Hannah, nieces, Brielle and Leia, nephews, Adrian and Kirk, in-laws, Pete, Thea, Whitney, and Mike, and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joshua Slayton.
