Obituary of Eunice Elaine Rongstad

Eunice Elaine Engberg was born May 29, 1929 in Slayton, Minnesota to Paul and Edith Engberg. She grew up on their family farm. Eunice graduated from Tracy High School in 1947. After graduating, she worked at the Murray County State Bank in Slayton. On December 1, 1950 Eunice was united in marriage to Chad Rongstad of Lamberton, Minnesota. They were married at the Lake Sarah Baptist church, Slayton, Minnesota. Chad and Eunice lived in Fergus Falls, Hanska, Willmar and Alexandria, Minnesota where Chad worked for Lampert Lumber Company. They have four daughters, Lynette, Janice, Lori and Joann. Eunice was active in the First Baptist Church of Alexandria. She taught Sunday School and served in the kitchen. Eunice enjoyed homemaking, cooking, baking, canning and gardening. She was an excellent sewist and created dresses, toys and costumes for her girls and grandchildren. In 1982, Chad and Eunice moved to Mesa, Arizona where they were involved as resident managers of retirement apartments. After retiring, they enjoyed exploring the southwest and spending summers in Minnesota. Eunice passed away Sunday, December 15th, 2019. She was 90 years old. Eunice has 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren . she is survived by her husband, Chad, her 4 daughters and their families, as well as her sister, Phyllis Mattson.
