Obituary of James Parker

James Douglas Parker of Mesa, AZ passed away on March 2, 2023.

James was born on September 27, 1949 to George William "G.W." and Susie Parker in Springfield, TN. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister, Wanda Marie Parker, and his younger brother, Loy Phillip Parker.

James is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Sheila Gordon Parker; brothers, Wayne (Carolynn) Parker and Steve (Pam) Parker; nephews, nieces and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

James graduated from Springfield High School class of 1969. He served his country as a staff sergeant in the Vietnam War. During this time, he met his wife Sheila in Germany where they were both stationed. James served as patrol officer for the city of Springfield from 1972-1976. James spent his working life in retail, child services and logistics both in Nashville, TN and Phoenix AZ. 

A celebration of life will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona reserved for those that served to protect our way of life. The celebration will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 10:30am.
