Obituary of Anna Lois Palmer

Anna Lois Johnson Palmer peacefully passed away on March 30, 2022. She was 94 years of age. She was preceded in death by her eternal companion, Larry Knight Palmer. They were married for 52 years. Anna Lois is survived by four of her ten siblings, Jerald Johnson, Leon Johnson, Ariel Krystal, and Jeanie Johnson, seven children, RenÁ©e McCrite, Ronald Palmer, Alana Porter, Eric Palmer, Sonia Busby, Keith Palmer, Lanette Harper, with a continuing posterity of 250 at her time of death. Anna Lois was born February 27, 1928 in Tucson, Gila, Arizona, the first child of Ernest Fredrick and Hugh Ophelia Inglish Johnson. Her family moved to the Valley when she was very young. She grew up going to school in Phoenix and Mesa, graduating from Mesa Union High School. Anna Lois was blessed with wonderful gifts and talents. She played seven musical instruments at performance proficiency. Before her marriage, she worked for Milanos Music Store. She taught scores of accordion students as she raised her children. She was an accomplished seamstress, making each of her daughters" wedding dresses as well as suits for her sons. She has made more High School Choral dresses, Pom Pom and dance costumes than she could count. Most of her grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren were blessed in outfits she had made. She owned and operated several businesses in her lifetime. She had a sewing school, a daycare, and an auto-lube business. She also worked at Cimarron Materials in Phoenix. She loved gardening and yard work. Anna Lois was the best Fix-it Man ever! She could take apart rotary phones, fix the problem and put them back together. She fixed lawn mowers and weed eaters, toasters and any other motor or appliance. While Anna Lois"s formal education was sparse after she graduated from High School, she was dedicated to learning new things. In her 80"s, she learned to play the harp and she embraced the world of technology. She encouraged other ladies her age to download the new Gospel Library app so they would be able to have the scriptures wherever they went! She learned to use a smart phone, an iPad, and a computer. Her last hurdle came 2 years ago when she learned to answer her smart phone with her hearing aids! As a life-long, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in all the auxiliaries of the Stakes and Wards she lived in. She served as a Temple Worker for 11 years. Her family is so grateful for her strong testimony. Her conviction and love of the Savior, Jesus Christ, was often born to us through her actions as well as her words. We know she and our dad are together and they continue to watch over their family and loved ones.
