Obituary of Suzanne Marie Barnhouse

Suzanne "Suzi" Barnhouse of Mesa, AZ, went home to Jesus on December 6, 2021, at age 76. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Bernam and Dorothy Schultz. She is survived by her beloved husband, James W., her sons James K. and David, and granddaughters Grace, Natalie, Katherine and Jamie. She is also survived by her brother Leo Peter Schultz, his wife Barbara, her niece Jessica Coffey and her husband Sean, along with grand-nephews Thomas and Calvin. Suzanne Marie Schultz was born in Niagara Falls, NY on June 14, 1945. She graduated from Logan (OH) High School in 1963 and received her RN diploma from Mount Carmel College of Nursing in 1966. Upon graduation, Suzanne worked as a nurse at Mount Carmel Hospital. After giving birth to her two sons, Suzanne completed her BS in Gerontology from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and worked as Blood Drive Coordinator for 10 years at United Community Blood Center in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. Suzanne was a regular blood donor and organized hundreds of community blood drives, helping to save lives in the Greater Cleveland area. She subsequently received her Master"s Degree in Health Education from Cleveland State University, where she served on the faculty as a college instructor. After retiring and moving to Arizona in 2003, Suzanne was very active in volunteerism, raising funds for the annual Zoo Walk for Autism and supporting the funeral ministry with meals at her Catholic parish, St. Timothy. She loved country line dancing, and attended as many of her granddaughters" swim meets and volleyball matches as possible. She always had a big smile and warm hug for everyone she met. Visitation will be held at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 W. Juniper in Gilbert, AZ, on Thursday, December 16 from 6:00 pm "" 8:00 pm. The funeral mass service will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1730 W. Guadalupe in Mesa, AZ, on Friday, December 17 at 12 noon.
