Obituary of Reyna Padilla Medina

On June 27, 2021, Reyna Padilla Medina at the young age of 97 went home to our Lord. She was born October 21, 1923, in Superior, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Benito Flores Medina, Mother Consuelo L. Martinez, Father Jose Marcil Padilla, sisters Helen Garcia, Mary Dominguez, Carmen Zavala and brothers Jose "Pepe" Padilla, Jesus "Chuy" Padilla, Philip Martinez and Antonio "Tony" Martinez. Reyna lived a long, beautiful, and faithful life practicing the Lord"s command to "Love One Another". She was the epitome of LOVE. She gave that love not only to her five children but also to her family, friends and anyone who met her. She was a homemaker all her life but gave back to her community: At St. Francis Catholic Church she baked the best chocolate cakes for the Fiesta raffle, taught Catechism classes, donated food to help the needy and in 1965 she was actively involved in the Cursillo Movement. She was also active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Reyna was a DIVA in her own right. She was not only a knockout BEAUTIFUL but HUMBLE and KIND. She loved fashion and always coordinated her hats, jewelry, shoes, scarves, and clothes so they matched. She loved to look beautiful, to dance and have a good time. Most of all she loved having her family close to her giving them her full love and support. She loved deeply, she laughed wholeheartedly and danced all the way into her nineties. Besides her love for fashion one of her secrets to a long life was to have relatives and friends of all ages around her. She loved to listen to their stories, adventures, and problems, shared her thoughts and experiences with them which was her way of giving advice without imposing. It gave her a reason for living. Reyna is survived by her sister, Connie Ruiz, her daughters Carolyn Bejarano, Regina Medina, Sandra Medina, Liz Diaz-Gonzalez and sons Ronnie Medina and Raymond Medina. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great grandchildren. She taught us to never give up no matter what life brings, to love with all your heart, and always look your best when in public. We thank you mom for your love, your guidance, your support and for being a wonderful Matriarch of our family.
