Obituary of Patricia Jane Yorgason

Patricia Jane "Janie" Yorgason (Banbury), 65, of Queen Creek, Arizona, passed away on June 16th, 2021 at home with her husband by her side. She was born to parents Bill and Bobbi Banbury, May 31st, 1956 in Cottonwood, Arizona. Janie graduated from Payson High School in 1974 and attended both Brigham Young University and Phoenix College following high school graduation. She was married and sealed to Shane Yorgason in 1986 in the Mesa Arizona temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Janie is survived by her husband of 34 years, Shane, her children, Tanner, Ivan (Nikki), Keith (Dara), Jake (Emily), Cody (Camille), Bonner (Ashley), Shyanne and 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by her older brother Charlie and her younger brother Dave. She was predeceased by her mother, Bobbi, father, Bill, and brother, Terry. Janie was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher who fiercely loved her family. Through many trials in her life she maintained a positive and optimistic attitude. She loved God and loved being a mother. She was athletic, tough, and smart. She was diagnosed with ALS in 2018, but never lost her joy for life. Even up to the end of her life, she never lost her wit or sass, including calling her husband a "punk" by writing it on a tablet when she couldn"t speak the word. One of her favorite quotes was from President Russell M. Nelson: "Life does not begin with birth, nor does it end with death. As seedlings of God, we barely blossom on earth; we fully flower in heaven." Funeral will be held on Saturday, June 26th, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 22035 E Ocotillo Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85242. A private burial for her husband and posterity will be held on June 28th, 2021 in Flagstaff.
