Obituary of Dean Charles Priebe

Dean Charles Priebe May 29, 1942 "" June 6, 2021 Dean Charles Priebe, magnificent husband, fantabulous father, amazing grandfather and great grandfather, marvelous brother and fantastic friend, died peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021 in his house with his family by his side. Dean started his journey in Des Moines, Iowa and shared his spirit and zest for life in several states. He moved to New York in 1960, to California in 1963, to Ohio in 1993, back to Iowa in 2008 and finally to Arizona in 2013. He married his main squeeze, Lorretta Jean Bresson over 53 years ago (January 6, 1968), with whom he had two children, Loren Dean Priebe of Sandusky, OH and Denise Lee Diamond of Gilbert, AZ. He taught them how to parallel park, to appreciate bad jokes, how to enjoy the great outdoors with many camping adventures, to be DIYers and to be kind and grateful. He took great pride in helping them renovate their homes and seeing them become independent, successful and happy. The thing he was best at was saying yes! Yes Dear. Yes Lorretta. Yes honey, I will wear matching homemade holiday shirts. I love my Easter bunny shirt. Who wouldn"t want to wear a Turkey shirt for Thanksgiving. The St. Patrick"s Day shamrocks bring out my eyes. Dean had a life long love affair with food. He could not say no to over easy eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and a warm glass of milk. Lorretta encouraged this ongoing affair and cooked and baked for him to his heart"s content. There wasn"t much he wouldn"t put in his pie hole! He excelled at wood working, writing and singing songs and playing his guitar. If you needed help, he"d be there. He volunteered for local hospitals, Meals on Wheels, 9-11 cleanup with the Red Cross, CASA, Cambridge courts and the Old Washington Fire Department. Dean was a land surveyor for over 53 years after many various and interesting jobs. Dean traveled and vacationed extensively with his wife, family and friends and was always happy to spend quality time (and $$$$) on these priceless adventures. Some of his travels include most of the states, 5 of the 7 continents and lots of local favorites. Loved ones that cleared the path for Dean are his father Louis Priebe, his mother Velma Plaine, his half-brother Kenneth Priebe. Loved ones that will miss Dean until they meet again are his wife Lorretta Jean Priebe, his son, Loren Dean Priebe and his son"s family (Misty Dawn Priebe (wife), Cody Allen Priebe (son), Brianna Dawn Priebe (daughter), Milliana Cherie Grega (granddaughter)), his favorite daughter, Denise Lee Diamond, his brother Jerry Priebe, his half-sister Patty Wheeler.
