I first met Scott Lea, when he joined the Levitz, organization in 1978. We worked in the same store shoulder to shoulder for more than 15 years. Over that time we both grew in the company and moved on with our lives and careers in different parts of the country. However that was not the end of our friendship. I am happy to say that it lasted over 41 years until Scott†™s passing last week. Scott was a gentleman, a good friend, and probably one of the smartest men I ever knew. He was extremely caring and back in the early days before Beverly came along, he worked many evenings for me so I could be home with my Young family. Beverly came to work for us several years later, and after a short while I began to realize that Scott wasn†™t offering to work for me any longer. He wasn†™t saying a word, except that he was busy, but I could see that something was different. I did some investigating and realized that Scott Lee and Beverly Ray worked the same evenings and we†™re off the same evenings. After putting two and two together I realized what was going on and was happy to work evenings knowing that my pal and good friend had found the love of his life. The only sad part of the whole thing was that on their wedding day I had to work the store as I was the only one left. As I said before we remained good friends for years, and although the miles separated us every time we had the opportunity to talk on the phone we picked up right where we had left off. That in my mind is a real example of a true friendship. They are many people out there who knew and loved Scott and I†™m glad that I was one of them. Scott was a force to be reckoned but always had my back. He always remained one of the truest friends I†™ve ever had. I miss you Scott, I will miss those calls and promise to keep up with Beverly to make sure she is ok. Jim, although we have never really met, it†™s like I know you, through your dad and I†™m sure you know what a great guy your dad was in every way. God bless you Scott and while you†™re up there in heaven keep an eye on us. You know it†™s always good to have a true and good friend in the †œCorporate Office†.

I met Scott 22 years ago when he hired me to work for him at Levitz in South Florida. We seemed to connect right from the start, his energy and enthusiasm were contagious...though, at the time I had no idea the impact he was going to have on me.
A short time (like 6 weeks short), Levitz announced it was closing and leaving the Florida Market- I followed Scott to Arizona to work with him there. His thoughtful and caring approach to leading made him easy to follow- I tried to soak up as much as he would "spill out"...we worked together for the next few years (4 in total), but I can still hear him sharing a story about the family, or past experiences. It was hard not to enjoy yourself when spending time with Scott- he was always quick with a joke or a great analogy.
We remained friends from that point on- he was and will always be my mentor, the big brother I never had, but even more importantly, a man that I looked up to, admired and respected.
My deepest condolences to Beverly, Jim and all of Scott's family, I know how much he loved them all and I know he will be missed; may Scott rest in peace.

I met Scott though his lovely wife Beverly who was a colleague of mine at the same company. Over the years I enjoyed every conversation we engaged in, no matter how obscure the subject matter was, he was always quite adroit on the topic. I always looked forward to an evening with Scott, because I could always count on his affable soul, devastating wit, and interesting perspectives. He was also a very elegant and dignified man who carried himself with immense aplomb. I will miss our counterfactual history discussions, old friend. Scott also possessed a great attitude in life in which he demonstrated not olny in the best of times, but in the worst of times as well. He dealt with many illnesses and deep personal tragedies over the years, but always handled all of them with such grace and dignity. People like Scott are not easy to come by in life, I'm just lucky to have known him. Godspeed Scott.
Christian Culley.

I was sorry to learn of the passing of Scott. He was a well respected member of the La-Z-Boy family. Although I did not have the opportunity to work with Scott often, he was always a pleasure to work with. A super nice guy that always looked for ways to help out and make things better. He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to his loved ones during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Scott's passing. My thoughts and prayers go out to Beverly and all his family and friends at this sad time. I have many happy memories of Scott from being a coach for our soccer team more than 45 years ago to Thanksgiving tackle football games in 2 inches of mud at the house where he, Janet and Craig grew up in Twinbrook. Rest in Peace Scott.

The most heartfelt condolences to Scott's near and extended family during this difficult time. I'm thinking of you all from Sydney Australia and I feel so privileged to have been included here. Distance does not define or divide us. A special mention to Janet, Jennifer and Chris.

I was saddened today to learn of the passing of Scott Lea. He was our rock during our transition to the West Coast Distribution Center in 2011, and the Reego team and I enjoyed several years of his partnership in managing our warehousing and delivery needs. Having a similar approach to problem-solving, work, and the importance of family, we connected from the beginning. While I will miss him dearly, I will always remember his dedication and energy, his quick but careful decisive approach, and always knowing he pursued the solution that was right for the business and the customer.

I met Scott when I joined La-Z-Boy as his manager. When I first visited Scott's Distribution Center, I had a lot of questions. Scott was always patient and thorough with his explanations. He wanted me to know the process but also understand the history behind the decisions. He was dedicated to making sure our customers service was the best and went to great lengths to make sure every customer was treated right. He was equally dedicated to his team and really loved leading his building to success. I will miss him- his wisdom, kindness and leadership cannot be replaced.
