Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Turner

MARY ELIZABETH (REILLY) TURNER of Gilbert, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2020, in her home at the age of 82. She was born on February 26, 1937 in Sharon, Connecticut. Mary retired from the City of Scottsdale, where she worked as an administrative assistant in the planning department for 37 years. She loved being near and caring for birds and other animals, she also was involved with DAV, VFW, and the American Legion, where she met Vaughn and they married in 2002. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Elsa Reilly, brother David and sister Alice. She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, Vaughn G. Turner, and his 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; her brother John of Scottsdale, brother Robert (Diane) of Phoenix, and sister Ruth (Reilly) Lewis of Gilbert. She was also very fond and close to her many nieces, great nieces and great nephew. The family would like to thank doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital of Gilbert, Hospice at Home of Arizona, and all the caregivers who cared for Mary during her last months of her life. A celebration of life will be held on March 14, 2020, 1 PM"”4 PM, at their home in Gilbert, AZ, to share stories and remember Mary. Donations may be made to No Kill Animal Shelters.
