I can†™t believe it has been a year since Owen passed. It seems only like yesterday that we were preparing for our annual trip to Cancun. They were wonderful times and we miss all the fun we had with you and Owen. Also all the good times we had up in Saratoga with us both working for the State after our retirements from NYPD. Miss our Grump luncheons and our trips to Indian Lake. I also can†™t forget how Owen always gave Bonnie a hard time in a nice way. It will be two years on the 30Th on 10/30 that Bonnie has been a resident at Spring Arbor
All our prayers to you Cathy and your great family
Love Bonnie and Ed

Please accept the condolences of yet another Grump. Owen and I both worked in the Criminal Division of the NY Attorney General's Investigations Bureau. Like Owen, I also was in the NYPD before making the trip from the five boroughs to Upstate. I remember when Owen posed as a UPS delivery man, complete with brown shirt & trousers, much to the chagrin of the UPS brass whose guidelines forbid beards. But the outfit fooled the guy who accepted and signed for the contraband package. Owen was a good man, a faithful Grump, and excellent investigator, and well respected by the investigators who worked for him. We are all better off for having known him. The Grumps all got a great laugh when we read the story of his successful battle with the car dealer that tried to gouge him for upgrading the GPS in his brand new car. You did us all proud, Owen; sleep well, old friend.

I met Owen for the first time when he moved to Clifton Park. We had both been in the NYPD As were many of the Grumps. We both had second jobs in State Goverment. Owen at the Attorney Generals office in investigations..My self I had been appointed to be the Director of Security at the NYSL We had similar backgrounds in that we were both born in Brooklyn.Cathy and my wife Bonnie became close friends. Then in 1999 the Kelly†™s asked us to come to Cancun for a week at their timeshare we spent many years going to Cancun having a wonderful time each year for 15 years Owen and Cathy moved to Az. And Bonnie and I moved to Va but we still kept in touch all these years. All five of our children remember Owen with such love and seeing him speak at my birthday and moving parties. His talks were always the hit of these events. The 7 Rowan†™s were very sorry to hear about Owens passing. Much love to the entire Kelly family.

I extend my sincere condolences to the Kelly family. I had the good fortune to meet Owen at the Grump Club. He was always a gentleman and had a good police story to tell. May the fond memories that you have of Owen help to ease the pain that you are experiencing because of his passing. Rest in peace my friend....

I didn't meet Owen until we were both living in upstate New York. However there was a day when we shared Police Precinct boundaries in Brooklyn ,(Owen in the 80 Pct and myself in the 77 Pct). Fittingly that street was Brooklyn Avenue. We had some great conversation reminiscing.
Owen as always a true gentleman. Everyone from the Grump Club has been lucky to know him.

So sorry to hear of Owen's passing. Owen and my dad, John Sheridan, were NYS Attorney General Investigator coworkers. As retired NYPD detectives, they both shared a love of law enforcement and a good practical joke. My dad thought very highly of Owen. I too knew Owen and found him to be such a fun and kind man. My condolences to you Kathy and to the rest of Your family. Kathi (Sheridan) Rissberger
