Frank Potts passed away September 3rd, 2020. he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. Frank had a kind, joking, and adventurous spirit. He loved to laugh and tell great stories.

Frank was the first of five children born to Harold and May (Needham) Potts in East orange, New Jersey. He knew hard times growing up during the depression. As a boy he bought his own horse, he earned money working at a grocery store and trapping during the winter. He trapped many muskrats in the Jersey swamps and these furs were used to line the caps of American fighter pilots during WWII.

Frank was an outstanding athlete in school, playing both football and baseball. In high school, he was called up to try out for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball club. After high school, he received several Division 1 scholarships for football but never went on to college.

Frank served in the army during the Korean War, beginning in his service in the combat infantry and later he was assigned to the Mash unit until the end of the war. After the war, he drove a route delivering bread for the bond bread company. He eventually went to work for Quaker Oats company as a sales representative for most of his working career. He worked out of New York, St Louis, and Boston areas during this time period in the later part of his career he worked for the Bigelow Tea company in the New England area.

Frank was a dedicated worker. When he wasn't working he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed throwing the football around, playing wiffle ball, croquet, shooting baskets and going for rides to look for deer. These trips often involve pit stops for ice cream. He was a good fisherman and tied his own flies. He loved watching sports and always supported the home team no matter where he lived. He was always up for a ride in the car no matter where.. the hardware store, gas station, dentist... Anywhere.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joan Marie (Schultz). She was the love of his life.

Frank loved his family more than anything. He would always find a reason to make a visit last a little longer, by telling a story, needing "technical"help , or just take the time to say, " I'm so glad you are my kid." He had a way of making us all feel loved and special.

He is survived by one brother Bob, two sisters Alice (Skibic), Ruth (Schultz), two sons Dave (Debina Gibb) , Steve (Brian Lamoureux ), 1 daughter, Linda (Karen Stockton), two grandchildren Megan (Dave Suydam) and Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was a kind, loving soul that made everyone he encountered a better person for having known him. Family and friends will dearly miss him.
