Todd Steven Anderson
Todd was born March 31, 1962 in Flint, Michigan to Joyce and Ervin Anderson and passed away on November 28, 2017 in Gilbert, Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Laura Leigh Johnsen Anderson, son Tyler Steven and daughter Cheyanne Taylor (fiancé, Brandon Chambers) and siblings Randy Anderson, Heidi (Anderson) and Curt Mosher, Paula Anderson and Scott Pyles, Michael (Betty) Hansen and Mark Hansen and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Anderson, mother, Joyce Neely Anderson Hansen and step-father Arthur Hansen.
Todd moved to Bradenton, Florida from Michigan in 1974 with his parents at the age of 12. He graduated from Bayshore High School in 1980. He attended Manatee Community College and worked at UPS prior to enlisting into the Marine Corp. He graduated boot camp on 7/25/1985. On 7/31/1985 Todd married Laura in Sarasota, Florida.
He then served as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp from 1985 through 1991. He was in Operation Dessert Shield/Storm. He specialized as a Stinger Missile Gunner and Air Traffic Controller. He received a Letter of Appreciation, National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Expert Badge, SW Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Mast and Pistol Sharpshooter Badge.
After his military service he and Laura moved to Chicago for 4 years where he worked for Roadway. From 1994 to 1997 they moved to Mesa where Todd worked for Motorola. Continuing his work in the computer industry they moved to Austin, TX to work for AMD from 1997 to 2000, eventually returning to Mesa to work at Motorola Freescale.
Todd loved pursuing his education and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University in Aviation Management and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Todd was a bright, loving and very caring individual. He loved his family very much. He enjoyed golfing, biking and shooting at the range with his children. He was humorous and passionate about his work and family. He was loved by all his family and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service for Todd will be held on Friday, December 8th, 3:00 PM at the Falconer Funeral Home, 251 West Juniper Avenue, Gilbert, AZ, 85233.
